Twilite's Corporate Training Program
All security officers are trained in basic security to meet or exceed CGSB standards. Other specialized training may be provided on individual client needs
Our programs are provided by the “Law
Enforcement & Security
Training Academy of Canada” and are divided into two categories,
which are identified as Basic training and Specialized Advanced
training.
Basic Training
The Basic Training category, which each applicant must successfully
complete before hiring, is a comprehensive, yet easily understood
training program designed for security guard personnel. With liability
issues facing employers and purchasers employing uniformed security
personnel, the basic security training course is an essential
part of training for all guard staff. The basic training courses
follow the Canadian General Standards Board criteria.
The course curriculum is administered through the use of a Basic
Trainer’s Manual as well as an accompanying video program and
is divided into the following sections.
- Security as a career
- Professionalism and public relations
- Legal authorities/duties, responsibilities
- Bomb Threat
- Disturbed persons
- Emergency situations
- Fire detection/prevention/safety
- Alarm Systems
- Personnel/Material access control
- Patrolling
- Court appearance
- Law
- Rules of Evidence
- Relations with public law enforcement authorities
- Traffic control
- Labor relations
- Report writing/not taking
- Post orders
With self-help quizzes, presentation tips, classroom layout, lecture
notes and final examination, this program assists in developing the
proper knowledge and motivation required by uniformed security personnel.
Successful completion of the Basic Training course requires a minimum
75% score on the final examination.
Specialized Advanced Training
The Specialized Training category offers other courses that are
site specific; Example: Non Violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid,
CPR, WHMIS, FAC, etc.
Pending acceptable completion of the Basic Training Program other
phases of our induction process include integrity testing, background
checks and licensing.
